Mr Nurideen Iddrisu, a party activist of the National Democratic Congress has said he is going to contest for the flagbearership of the party after failing an executive position.

“I have the intention to contest for the flagbearer of the great NDC when nominations are opened by the party in 2018,” Mr Iddrisu told the press on friday.

Mr. Iddrisu contested for the Deputy National Organizer position of the NDC in 2010 but he however lost.

The Wa indegene said he has had talks with the elders and regional executives of the party to make known his decision to them to become the party's leader in the next general elections.

He noted that this initiative to contest for the presidential candidacy for victory in 2020 for the NDC would be defective “if I do not consult the people of my own region".

Mr Iddrisu is well known as a businessman and a banker. He is also into oil an gas and happens to be a politician.

He has charged members of his party the NDC to unite and forge ahead for victory in 2020,saying “I wish to state without any fear of contradiction that the Executives are resolute with desirable energies in their quest to unite the ranks of the party in the region".

He elaborated that his decision to lead the party is out of his vision to see Ghanaians empowered through education, good health and jobs.

Mr. Iddrisu holds the intention of leading a planned and sustained investment in people and infrastructure for rapid creation of a sustainable economic development and empowered Ghanaians.
