Nurse, Ruth Arhin's murder: One more suspect arrested
17th February 2020
One more person has been arrested in connection with the suspected murder of a nurse at Sewua in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
This brings the total number of arrests to two.
Ruth Arhin, 37 and a mother of three failed to return home after close of work on Monday, February 3.
She was later found dead a few metres from her house on Tuesday, February 4.
While a mobile phone found at the scene of the crime was traced to the first suspect, the regional police command in a statement signed by ACP David Agyemang Adjem said the second suspect, 37-year-old Kofi Gariba was arrested after a tipoff.
The murder of Ruth Eshun has led to public outrage against the security force for what many have described as their lackadaisical attitude towards the incident.
Nurses in the Ashanti region have already given the police a two-week ultimatum to find the killers or they will withdraw their services in Sewua and the region in general.
But calling for calm, the police in its statement assured the bereaved family and the general public that it will do everything possible within the law to bring the perpetrators to book.
