Fura is an indigenous Hausa delicacy enjoyed by many in Ghana.

It comes with a blend of authentic local ingredients eg., millet, herbs, spice like pepper, peppercorns, cloves, and ginger.

It’s best prepared by northerners in Ghana, and it’s mostly made into balls, blended manually with sugar and water (cold or within room temperature) into something like porridge and mostly enjoyed with milk and groundnut.

Below are some benefits of Fura;

1. Its main ingredient is millet, and millet helps in fat metabolism.

2. It also helps with the repair of body tissue and creating energy in the body due to the presence of phosphorus.

3. It helps reduce the effects of migraines and heart attacks due to the presence of magnesium.

4. It lowers LDL levels in the body due to the presence of vitamin B3.

5. It reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes.

6. It protects against breast cancer.

7. It’s good for digestion due to its alkaline nature.

8. The use of treated fresh milk contains probiotics good for intestinal health and so on.
