The FA Cup Committee (FACC) chairman Kurt Okraku has hailed Kwesi Nyantakyi’s election onto the FIFA Executive Council saying it will help develop the nation’s football.

Okraku, who doubles as the president of Dreams FC, noted that Nyantakyi’s achievement proves his worth on the international football stage.

Nyantakyi was yesterday voted by CAF delegates to become part of the two African slots on the FIFA Executive Council after annexing 31 votes to place second.

In an interview with Footballghana, Okraku said: “His election into FIFA will help Ghana football in diverse ways in terms of developments”.

“We have to benefit from him now that he is with FIFA and I believe he would do just that,” he added.

Nyantakyi will serve on the Council from now until March next year when he will seek re-election.
