Dr. Lawrence writes:

The President, in Kumasi on the Comprehensive Sexuality Education, met with some leaders of the Christian and Muslim Communities and as usual, put words together to make sentences without acting to know that what he was saying was in fact not true. It is either the President has been misled again or it was a mistake that CSE found its way into the NPP’s 2019 Budget.

The President said in Kumasi that the Guidelines Ghanaians are talking about is to be approved by the government in power to teach our children Ghanaian cultural, values and norms. He said so long as he remains the President of Ghana, he will not allow anything unacceptable to be transferred to our children in the form of teaching homosexuality in schools.

This is where I got to know that our President, Nana Addo, is a lame duck President who is just left with putting words together to form sentences. He has no idea what is going on in his government. His address in Kumasi hasn’t helped matters go down. In fact, it has raised more questions than answers.

When the President was speaking in Kumasi, did he know that the CSE was captured in his 2019 Budget? Did he know that the Guidelines he talked about was already approved by the Ghana Education Service? What consultation went on before GES approved the Guidelines and has Cabinet rejected anything since Nana Addo became President? They approved them and later tell us either the President was misled or it was a mistake. Nonsense!

Did Nana Addo know that his Education Minister had gone to assure UNESCO that Ghana will roll out CSE in our schools in September 2019? Who wrote that speech for Napo and on whose authority was that speech written? What was the punishment for Napo for giving an international assurance when he knew it was against his President’s vision? Did Napo run that speech through the Flagstaff House, since it was a policy statement? Who approved that speech at the Presidency? Did the President has answers to these questions before going to Kumasi?

All of a sudden, Peace FM and some rented media houses and personnel are calling some retired Professors into their shows and talking about homosexuality in 2015. Kwaku Baako, Jr, who in 2015 said homosexuality was madness is today saying there is no wrong in teaching our children about homosexuality. When he was asked to explain it, he explained it in such a way that he insulted everybody and got away with it because the host was Kwame Sefa Kayi.

Ladies and Gentlemen, do we remember this homosexuality issues first came up in 2017? Two years down the road in 2019, it has come up again in a different form. Another two years, in 2021, mark my word, it will come up again in yet another form. If we are not very careful and Nana Akufo Addo is the President, he will put his stamp on it, put some words together to tell is that it was the pressure group that forced it. At that time, no amount of demonstrations and uprising will change anything.

Homosexuality is the reason why I am putting my life, time and resources on the line so Nana Addo is never re-elected in 2020. I ask you to join my course because the government of Nana Addo after 2020 will be very very very scary.
