The Council of Zongo Chiefs, Kumasi sent a congratulatory letter to Ghana’s Vice President Dr Mahmud Bawumia after the latter was sworn-in as Vice-President becoming the 6th Ghanaian to occupy the high office since Ghana begun democratic governance in 1992.

In a letter signed by President of the Council of Chiefs Naba Musah Akambonga who doubles as the deputy public relations officer of the national unit of the council, the zongo chiefs expressed joy in the election of the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana whom they (Council of Zongo Chiefs) refer to as “one of our own”

They assured the new Vice President of their support in his quest to implementing the many development agenda he preached during the campaign era while insisting they have “faith and trust” in him to deliver.

“On behalf of the members of Council of Zongo Chiefs of Kumasi and my own behalf, I wish to convey our utmost heart felt congratulation to you for being elected to the High Office of Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. We have now got our own to serve the High Office as that of the Vice President and wish to assure you of our support in prayers and collaboration to implement the many development agenda as maintained in the economic policy during the election campaign.

We wish you the best in your new High Office and have faith and trust in you that this opportunity would help you serve the President and the good people of Ghana with greater humility and excellence.
