Former First Lady and flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings says the only people who are not hit by the current economic hardships in Ghana are those pilfering from government coffers.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, a former first national vice chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a defeated presidential aspirant of the party who broke away to form the NDP, wondered why the Mahama administration cannot be truthful to Ghanaians about the poor state of affairs in the country.

According to her, Ghanaians are currently faced with economic hardships which make life unbearable for most citizens and this must publicly acknowledged by the governing NDC.

“In God’s word, no is no and yes is yes; right is right and wrong is wrong! According to the church and the leaders of the church, it is God that gave us the leaders, why is it that these leaders cannot tell us yes when it is yes and no when it is no?” she queried.

Speaking at a mini rally to outdoor NDP’s parliamentary nominee for Agortime-Ziope Constituency, Dr David Sunu over the weekend, Nana Konadu reiterated it is only state looters who are not experiencing hardship in the country.

“Everybody is suffering; churches are suffering, schools are suffering, hospitals are suffering, everything is suffering and all the people in Ghana are suffering except those who are stealing. If we were conscious, we will not steal what does not belong to us; we will not. Because the thing is there for you to work for the people of Ghana to enjoy,” she said.

Although Nana Konadu did not immediately mention the names of the ‘thieves’, she implored Ghanaians to vote out the governing NDC, which she described as incompetent and lacks vision.

On his part, the Parliamentary nominee, Dr David Sunu urged the electorate in the area to vote for him to present them in Parliament, and to bring real change and development.
