The member of Parliament (MP) for Daffiama Bussie Issa Constituency in the Upper West region, Dr. Sebastian Sandaare is questioning why the Upper West regional hospital is still under lock and key despite the commissioning of the project.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo on 18th August 2019 during a tour of the region commissioned the project amidst fun fare and merry making but is yet to be operational since then.

The 160 bed capacity hospital is yet to be opened to the Public despite the commissioning with residents of the region still been referred to other bigger hospitals in and around the region.

Construction of the $52m dollar project which started in 2014 was financed by Euroget de-Invest  started in 2014 and was completed this year.

Speaking in an interview, the MP who also doubles as a member of the parliamentary select committee on health has called for the immediate opening of the hospital to the residents of the Upper West region.

“Commissioning the hospital after that closing and the people here been referred outside that is the reason we the beneficiaries that is myself been a member of the health committee in parliament think that it’s not right we don’t commission a project and its closed” he fumed.
