The Speaker of Parliament has ordered Deputy Local Government Ministerial nominee, John Oti Bless to render an unqualified apology to the Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood.

The decision, according to the Speaker, Edward Doe Adjaho was taken in consultation with the leadership of the House.

The embattled nominee was hoping to be approved by the House for him to begin his deputy ministerial career with five months to go into the elections.

But his fate hangs in a balance after he together with the infamous Montie 3 convicts were accused of making contemptuous comments against the Chief Justice and the judiciary.

His compatriots are serving time in jail for four months and the Minority in Parliament believes Mr Bless must equally pay for his contemptuous comments.

They petitioned the Speaker requesting that the Local Government nominee be rejected by the House having already been vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

They had sworn to block his approval if the matter had come to the floor for a decision to be taken.

But as an immediate measure, the Speaker believes an apology will help mitigate the bad precedent set by the Legislator.

He indicated that, if the matter is left unresolved and the nominee is given the nod, “it will serve as a dangerous precedent”

Mr. Doe Adjaho added that “any business that will put this House in a difficulty, it is my duty to guide the house”. Meanwhile, Adom News' Parliamentary correspondent, Abednego Asante Asiedu said, Mr. Oti Bless might not be approved today. He said with the House rising later Thursday evening, it remains to be seen if members will be recalled to the House to approve the nominee.
