Peter Frimpong, the 19-year-old factory hand of a Chinese plastic recycling plant, who was stabbed by his Chinese manager for allegedly idling during working hours is recovering in hospital.

Frimpong was stabbed three times in the neck, palm and at the back by the Chinese Manager and his assistant at the premises of the company located at Fabi, near Atonsu in Kumasi.

The manager, Liu Zhmeng, who was said to have been aided by his assistant, Liu Wan to assault Frimpong, were both arrested by the Asokwa police and have since been granted a police enquiry bail.

Zhmeng accused Frimpong of playing with a pair of scissors because there was no work to be done.

The incident was said to have occurred on September 4, 2018 at about 11pm.

The case was later reported to the Asokwa police who arrested the culprits and later released them on police enquiry bail.

When Graphic Online contacted the Asokwa District Police, the District Commander of Police, Superintendent Mr James Annor confirmed that a case of that nature has been reported but declined further comment.

The District Police Commander told Graphic Online he would need clearance from the Public Relations Officer (PRO) before he could speak with the media on the case.

The substantive PRO is on maternity leave and the acting officer is a junior officer.
