British journalist and presenter of Good Morning Britain TV show, Piers Morgan has charged President Donald Trump to retract and apologize for his distasteful comment about African immigrants and Haitians.

The US President was reported to have referred to some countries as “shithole” when a proposal on a bipartisan deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was presented to him Thursday.

"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" the Washington Post quoted him as saying.

The comments have sparked global outrage especially among the black community with the African Union coming out to condemn and demand for an unqualified apology from POTUS.

Piers Morgan took to his tweeter page to share his thought on the matter and urged Trump to apologize for his racist words adding that it is ‘absolutely essential’ for him to do so.

He tweeted:

”I know @realDonaldTrump doesn’t like apologising but sometimes it’s not just a good idea, it’s absolutely essential.
This is one of those times, Mr President.
Your comment about immigrants from ‘shithole countries’ was outrageous, disgraceful & racist“
