Ashford Tetteh Oku, Chairman of the Premier League Board has lauded the media for their comprehensive coverage of the Ghana Premier League this season, insisting they are the life wire of the league.

According to him, the media coverage of this season’s Ghana Premier League surpasses any other, hence the flamboyance of the league.

Many have argued that regardless of the lack of a headline sponsor for the league, the league appears exciting and highly competitive.

And the PLB Boss points at the media for such a feat.

“I can tell you that after that Alisa Hotel seminar when the clubs were advised to see the media as partners and open up to them, the coverage has been very fantastic,” he said.

“Even apart from taking to social media, the relationship between the clubs and the media has improved tremendously and that has carried the league this far.”

“Once the media also realized that this is the only league we have in this country, they have done so well by giving it the necessary publicity to bring out the excitement,” he added.

The media have been tremendously commended by many including Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his deputy Andre Ayew for the coverage of this year’s league.
