The Ghana Police Service has made special security arrangement for Churches tonight for the 31st night church services.

The Eastern regional Police Commander has deployed security personnel to some major churches in the region while other smaller churches are expected to be provided security by the Police Patrol teams deployed to provide special security for residents and revellers.

“Every church like Presbyterian Methodist, Catholic, Pentecost all other churches will be protected even though we are unable to provide some of the smaller churches Police personnel, because the mobile Police patrol and foot patrols are there, they are going to cater for these churches as well. So during the watch night, Police will be on these premises to provide security. Also all districts and Divisional Police commands in the region will cater for watch night services in their various operational areas”

The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Yaw Nketia-Yeboah said this in an interview with Kasapa FM’s Eastern regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah.

According to him, Police will intensify patrols in various parts of the region to protect lives and property.

He however advised that, individually, there is the need for people to be security conscious and collaborate with police to provide timely information about suspicious characters.

ASP Nketia Yeboah further stated that, Police will crack down oN the use of knockouts tonight as part of the security arrangements.
