Under-siege Ghana head coach Avram Grant has emerged as a candidate for the top job at German second-tier side 1860 Munich, according to reports.

Grant's stocks have dropped lowly in Ghana following the Black Stars' abysmal start to the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and further complicated by the Black Stars slump in the FIFA Coca-cola rankings.

The former Chelsea manager was linked with the USA job after the departure of Jurgen Klinsmann but the Americans snubbed him to appoint former head coach Bruce Arena.

The Israeli's departure as Ghana coach is certain as Ghana FA bigwigs are already considering his replacement. Grant's contract with the West African giants ends after the 2017 AFCON.

And, the vacant 1860 Munich job is the next on the line that Grant has been linked to. However, he is facing stiffer competition from ex-Aston Villa and Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo who is also tipped for the role.

1860 Munich are without a head coach after sacking Kosta Runjaic as the club's head coach earlier this week.

According to radio reports in Ghana, Grant is busily sorting out his future after realizing the Ghana FA is unhappy with his recent bad runs and are angling to fire him.
