FOOTBALL pundit Mahmoud Gaye says Zambia should be investigated for match fixing following its failure qualify to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

And celebrated South African sports journalist Thomas Kwenaite says there is a serious problem in Zambian football.

FIFA has banned former Football Association of Zambia vice-president Bornface Mwamelo for corruption and bribes in relation to match-fixing.

Appearing on ‘Soccer Africa’ on Thursday evening, Gaye questioned why Zambia was losing games in its qualifiers.

He said the banning of Mwamelo speaks volumes of corruption and bribes in the Zambia national team.

“If the former FAZ vice-president can be banned by FIFA for life for match fixing then you have to question how Zambia is losing. Investigate match fixing in Zambia,” Gaye said.

And Kwenaite, popularly known as TK, said FAZ president Andrew Kamanga should be worried.

“I don’t know if Andrew Kamanga should be worried because I know most of these Zambian players. They are professional. Can they take money to throw matches?” wondered Kwenaite.
