Former President Jerry John Rawlings has called the attention of top Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the reports of election malpractices in the regions across the country.

Mr Rawlings had invited the General Secretary of the Party Asiedu Nketia, the Chairman Kofi Portuphy, the Vice Chairman of the Council of Elders Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu.

At the meeting that was graced with the absence of Mr Portuphy and Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, the former President, according to a statement said enlightened Asiedu Nketia on the serious complaints and petitions popping up from the various constituencies across the country.

He also told Mr Asiedu Nketia about the serious negative impact that can have on the image of the party.

“Mr Asiedu Nketia conceded that it was necessary to take due note of the several petitions and complaints by suspending or cancelling such elections so the allegations could be thoroughly investigated and elections re-conducted to instil sanity and confidence in the process.” the statement indicated.

He added that, he had already called for some of the elections to be cancelled and and conducted again in the affected areas.
