Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom hailed their team spirit following their progression to the final qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian international played a key role as the Serbian Champions eliminated Copenhagen 7-6 on penalties.

Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the fixture, Boakye opened the scoring at the Telia Parken to put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute.

However, Ndoye’s 44th-minute equaliser ensured the game went to extra time and to the penalty shootouts where Red Star triumphed.

Boakye took to his twitter page after the match to express his joy;

Red Star will meet Swiss Super League outfit Young Boys next Wednesday in the first leg of the next round of Champions League playoffs.
