Kumasi Asante Kotoko are ready to boycott the MTN FA Cup even before it starts as reports in the local media suggests that the club have cited mounting injury woes as their reasons to opt out of the competition.

The preliminary draw for the competition which involves lower tier sides was held today but the porcupine warriors who are regarded among the favourites are ready to pull out.

Management of the club had a meeting on Tuesday and at the meeting it was decided that the club will not participate in this year's edition due to injuries.

The club feels that taking out the MTN FA Cup will reduce their fixture list and will afford them ample time to prepare for their league matches which they are anxious to win and play in the CAF Chmapions League.

It is believed the club will in the coming days send an official communication to the Ghana Football Association about their decision.

There will soon be another tussle between the GFA and Asante Kotoko if the said letter is to be delivered as such a move may attract sanctions.
