The return to full fitness of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan feels like a new signing according to Kayserispor sporting director Erol Bedir.

The Ghana forward had an underwhelming first season in Turkey, where he managed only thirteen appearances for Kayserispor and scored just one goal.

However the 32-year-old appears to have put his injury troubles behind after putting up several fine displays for the club during pre-season.

"We can count Varela and Asamoah's form as a new transfer," said an optimistic Erol Bedir ahead of their season opener against Antalyspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday.

Gyan joined the Anatolian Star in summer last year, signing a two-year deal.
