Right to Dream Academy celebrates 25 years with monument unveiling

Right to Dream Academy marked its 25th anniversary on Monday, November 25, with the unveiling of a symbolic monument at its Old Akrade campus in Ghana's Eastern Region.

The event, attended by alumni, dignitaries, and community leaders, celebrated the academy's legacy of nurturing talent both on and off the field since its establishment in 1999 by Tom Vernon.

The monument, aptly named Kania (meaning "Light" in Twi), consists of 25 interlinked pieces symbolizing the academy's journey over the past 25 years. Alex Asiedu, CEO of Right to Dream Ghana, highlighted its significance: "The 25 represents the 25 years Right to Dream has been [in existence], of excellent nurturing of talent on and off the field."

Cultural performances by local residents underscored the academy’s deep integration with its host community.

Right to Dream has gained international recognition for transforming lives through its unique blend of sports and education, producing renowned graduates like Ghana's Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana, Burkina Faso's Ousseni Bouda, and Ivorian Simon Adingra.

As the academy reflects on its achievements, it remains committed to empowering young talent through holistic development, envisioning an even brighter future for the next generation.
