Ghanaian-born  British, Josh Buatsi knocked kennedy katende out in the first two rounds leaving the Ugandan gasping for air in his corner.

The 23-year-old Ghana-Londoner who believed there was opportunity for boxing in Britain than in Ghana made the Olympic debut a competent one, there by leveling Katende to his kness.

First two rounds of the fight was just enough for the Ugandan as the knocks landed right on his head and tubby tummy.

Buatsi, a sports science student, stood in muscular, highly-trained contrast to his victim.

Katende stayed in his corner winded and blabbing with his trainers until the Beijing referee signalled the end.

According to the boxer, Buatsi, "The other guy has a lot of experience - he was boxing at the Beijing Games while I was a schoolboy - so I took nothing for granted and went about the job properly. 'I'm very pleased to be the one who got our first stoppage. Hopefully there are more to come. A gold medal is always the aim and this was a useful start.''
