17th June 2018
Sultry Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has slammed critics who have continuously criticized her for having a baby out of wedlock.
The actress who had come under barrage of attack after she welcomed a daughter with British photographer Jamie Roberts has indicated that having a child out of wedlock was a well planned personal decision.
Speaking on why she decided to start a family with Jamie, the former Miss Ghana finalist stated;
“Someone proposed and I didn’t even marry him. I felt like okay this is the right guy I can start something with,”“It’s fate and can happen to someone at 25 but mine happened to me when I turned 29. I felt like this is the time for me to have kids and I need to start. Of course my mum is my role model, she had kids when she was young. Yes you will feel a little pressure as a woman but not to force someone to marry you.”
The ‘Heels and Sneakers’ producer welcomed her daughter, Ryn Roberts last year Sunday, October 29, 2017, with Jamie Roberts.
Yvonne Nelson, who was on Joy FM reacting to that said she has her personal life and so no one can dictate to her what she should do with her life.
“You are there saying what you want about my life. It’s my life, you don’t feed me, can you mind your own business? So role models cannot get babies out of wedlock? What if I don’t want to get married and I just need a supportive partner,”
On whether or not the rumours of the break up was true, Yvonne did not provide a concrete answer but indicated that they decided to take off photos of themselves from their business pages.
