The 2018 edition of  the annual Routes Africa  forum has been launched in Accra,setting the the stage for Ghana's turn to host the rest of Africa from  16-18 of July.

The ceremony launched on Thursday saw the attendance of the aviation minister Madam Cecilia Dapaah and  the managing director of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) John Attafuah and some other dignitaries from the aviation industry.

This year’s Routes Africa event will be held from 16-18 July and hosted by Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

At a launch ceremony, GACL's managing director John Attafuah said the event would offer a "unique opportunity to showcase the potential of Ghana’s aviation industry".

Also speaking at the ceremony was Cecilia Dapaah, Ghana's aviation minister. She said the country's decision to host Routes Africa was "timely and strategic". She also spoke about the importance of increasing intra-Africa connectivity.

Routes Africa is the longest standing and most established aviation forum bringing together leading airlines, airports and tourism authorities to discuss air services to, from and within Africa for over a decade.

Routes Africa’s return to the annual route development calendar sees a number of new innvovations as part of the event, including a certified route development accredidation for all attendees by Routes’ sister company ASM.

ASM, which pioneered the concept of route development 25 years ago and established Routes events, will be holding a dedicated version of their world renowned ‘Fundamentals of Route Development’ training course as part of the Conference Programme.

The 12th Routes Africa will attract more than 250 delegates, 40 airlines, 50 airports and 15 tourism authorities.
