Former Black Stars stopper Sam Johnson says it is high time Ghana coach Avram Grant is relieved off his duties by the GFA.

Johnson says Grant must suffer the same fate of his predecessor Kwesi Appiah who was sacked after a poor showing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Grant believes Grant must pay the price after not picking up a win in his last five games, a run that has seen the Black Stars draw blank against Uganda and Rwanda and left them in an impossible 2018 World Cup qualifying group.

“It’s been five games without a win for the team. If it had happened to a black coach would the FA have maintained him? Grant takes more money and yet we do not see any proper results,” he stated.

He said: “Personally I think we should sack him. He has not done anything extraordinary for the team. I do not think he is helping us. He is taking us for granted. Luckily his contract ends soon and I am not sure the FA will sack him and pay him hefty amounts of money. I hope they will not renew it when it ends.”

Johnson says he is not taking part in a witch hunt against the Israeli but his results have not been good enough.
