Afia Pokua, host of Egyaso Gyaso, a political show on UTV, has advised president Akufo-Addo to sack persons she described as sycophants around him.

According to the journalist, popularly known as Vim Lady, these persons have invaded the president's campaign for their own selfish interest.

"Sycophants have invaded Nana Addo's campaign. People who are pretending to like Nana Addo and his government...Nana Addo if you are not careful and you don't sack these sycophants and leave everything in their care, you will be the only one going into opposition," she advised.

Vim Lady urged the president to take a cue from the experiences of late former president Atta-Mills and John Dramani Mahama.

She explained that people who pretended to be loyal to the two former presidents later abandoned them, noting that the late Mills has been left lonely at the Asomdwoe park whiles former president Mahama has been abandoned by the minority on his campaign tours.

"They did the same to Atta-Mills. At the time they were signing cheques to pay Woyome...the EOCO boss at the time said, Atta-Mills severally was against the payment of monies to Woyome, but they ignored his directive and paid the money because they knew who was going to benefit from the money. In the long run, it was only Atta-Mills went to his grave...At the Asomdwoe, he's lying there alone.

They did the same thing to Mahama...Some of his ministers were pretending to be on his side but now in opposition, no one is following him. The only people loyal to him now are his wife (Lordina), Ibrahim Mahama and his brothers. Where are the rest? They have abandoned him and looking for seats."

She told Nana Addo to gather the courage and sack these self-centred people around him.

"Don't forget, it will be your photo on the ballot paper not those sycophants around you. So get some balls and sack some people...sack these sycophants."
