Samartex midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo has expressed confidence in his team's preparation as they gear up for their CAF Champions League first-round clash against Cameroonian side Victoria United.

The highly anticipated first leg is set to take place on August 18, 2024, in Douala, with the return fixture scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium.

Under the leadership of coach Nurudeen Amadu, Samartex has already arrived in Cameroon, where they will begin their final preparations.

The team plans to settle in with a light shake-up session today, followed by two days of intensive training to ensure they are fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

In an interview with Kessben FM, Adabo emphasized the team's calm and readiness as they approach this crucial fixture.

"This is a significant opportunity for us to showcase our abilities on the African stage. It’s a major source of motivation for us.

We’re not feeling any pressure; we understand the task at hand. We’ve had discussions among ourselves and are determined to perform well against Victoria United," Adabo stated.

Samartex, the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, is making its debut in the CAF Champions League after a remarkable season that saw them dethrone Medeama as the league's top team.

The club's focus is now on advancing to the second preliminary round, where they could potentially face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic for a spot in the group stages.

The team's confidence and preparation will be put to the test as they aim to make a strong impression in their first-ever continental campaign.
