Second Lady, Samira Bawumia has donated a neurosurgical equipment and supplies valued at over GHS200,000 to the Neurosurgical Unit of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital at Ridge.

The donation was part of her  Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP), with support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA), through the Turkish Embassy in Accra, donated

According to Mrs Bawumia, the donation is an essential support for the high number of neurosurgeries recorded at the facility, a large number of which were motor accident-related.

Mrs Samira Bawumia advised motorbike riders to always have their helmets on.

According to her, the helmet is essential as it prevents brain injuries during accidents.

She noted that a successful healthcare delivery requires a collective effort and support and, therefore, urged motorists to be cautious on the road.
