Sammi Awuku intensifies campaign for Bawumia; invokes the spirit of founding fathers to crown him on Saturday

Director-General of the National Lottories Authority (NLA), Mr. Sammi Awuku, is calling on the spirit of the founding fathers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to honor Dr. Bawumia's sacrifices and select him as the flagbearer for the party.
The NPP’s presidential primary is set for Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Four candidates would compete to become the party’s presidential candidate for the 2024 elections. They are; former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Assin Central lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Mamppong lawmaker Francis Addai-Nimoh.
Mr. Awuku feels that Dr. Bawumia has earned the right to lead the NPP since he has behaved himself honorably in our country's political circles throughout the years.
"May the spirit of our tradition and our founders, Dr J.B Danquah, Simon Diedong Dombo, and Dr Kofi Abrefa Busia remember your toils and sacrifices for this party," he remarked in a campaign message on Thursday.
He noted that the Veep has shown a great degree of honesty and that Dr. Bawumia stepped up and made himself available when the party needed him.
As a result, he [Awuku] proclaimed that he would vote for Dr. Bawumia in the important polls on Saturday and urged the other delegates to follow suit.
