Samsung are expected to make a number of changes to the Galaxy S8, drawing inspiration from other models in the company’s catalogue of devices.

That’s according to new reports this week that claim the Samsung Galaxy S8 will eschew the standard flat panel in favour of a dual-curved display, much like the Note 7.

It will also launch its next next-generation device with a curved screen only, meaning the Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge may also be undertaking some major changes.

Reliable sources have backed up this latest news, as well as a recent report that the next-gen Galaxy will include two models, one with a 5.1inch dual-curved display, the other with 5.5inches.

That would mean the latter would have the same screen sizes as the Galaxy S7s, a full two years since the Samsung flagship underwent major design work.

The new Samsung devices have also been given new codenames - Dream and Dream2 - although this doesn’t suggest a big name change to go with the facelift being made.

But that won’t be the only differences between phones generations, Samsung is also rumoured to be developing its own proprietary port to replace the 3.5mm port.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 may also see its release date brought forward due to the lost customer trust following the Note 7 recall.

Earlier this month, they announced 35 of its latest smartphones had caught fire, followed by the US Federal Aviation Administration warning passengers not to use or check-in the device on aircraft.
