Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association Samuel Anim Addo has been appointed as the Board Chairman of lower tier side Okwahu United.

He will head a five member board which consist of some high profile businessmen and professionals with the likes of Kingsley Adofo-Addo as secretary, Yaw Obeng [Finance Director], Emmanuel Akoto-Bamfo [Marketing and Corporate Director] and Prince Boateng [Operations Director].

The appointment was made by the life patron of the club Kwahuhene Dasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II who has charged the new set up to resurrect the dwindling fortunes of the once great club.

“The board is expected to bring the club back to it’s former enviable position, as a powerhouse in Ghanaian football which competed in the elite division.” excerpt from the statement release by the Life of patron of the club.

Okwahu United are currently playing the in the Division Two middle league as they bid to secure qualification to the Division One  after suffering relegation some years ago.

The Asaase Aban club was among the elite teams in the Ghana Premier League in the 80's and 90's and even played in Africa.

They made it to the second round of the CAF Cup winners cup in 1987 and were withdrew in the first round in 2001.
