The Communications Director of Medeama SC , Patrick Akoto says the club is hurt by the on field resignation of their former coach Samuel Boadu.

He believes the young gaffer who was handed his big break by the Tarkwa based club did not show them any level of respect.

According to Akoto, President of the club Mr Moses Armah Parker is hurt by the way and manner the hitherto unknown Samuel Boadu left the club unceremoniously hence their decision to drag him to the player status committee of the GFA seeking general damages among others.

"The club feels hurt by way the Sammy (Samuel Boadu) resigned. He resigned on a pitch and that has really hurt the club President and the team," The club's Communication chief Patrick Akoto told Tarkwa-based Mining City Radio.

"We gave him a huge opportunity but the club feels he slapped us on the face in the most hurtful manner.

"It's not easy for a club cast in the stature of Medeama to give a lower-tier coach such a monumental opportunity but we believed in him and gave him a shot.

"The club has no difficulty if he wants to quit and move on. However, its important for employees to always bear in mind the circumstances and how they exit any company. It will always be used as a future reference.

"He was given the much needed respect and support but we feel he has betrayed us in the most gut-wrenching manner. It's a lesson well learnt by the club going forward."

Coach Samuel Boadu sent shockwaves through the spine of the footballing world when he resigned from his role as the coach of Medeama SC on 25th February, 2021.

Seven days after leaving his role unilaterally as Medeama SC coach, the former Asokwa Deportivo gaffer signed for Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak.

His former assistant coach at Medeama, Hamza Obeng followed a similar route by his former head coach as he resigned unceremoniously on 16th March 2021, but eight days later was appointed assistant coach to his former boss Boadu.

Coach Samuel Boadu joined Medeama SC in 2018 from lower tier side Asokwa Deportivo before his assistant Hamza Obeng joined him a year later.

The club and their former employees are set for a fierce legal battle and at the player and coaches status committee.
