Sarkodie gets political and reveals what he thinks of Ghanaian leaders
12th December 2018
Award-winning rap artiste Sarkodie, has given his opinions on what he feels are the problems with Ghanaian and African society at large. The musician then went on to speculate on what he feels are the solutions going forward.
Sarkodie was expressing himself on Twitter in the early of Tuesday with a series of tweets about society and politics.
The "Original" rapper started off with a lamentation of what seemed like his views on an unfair relationship between Africans and Westerners.
Sarkodie then went on: "These systems were never built for us so therefore we can’t benefit from it ... The world is surviving on us but we suffer ..."
He wrote that these Westerners "broke us up so they can can control" . For Sarkodie, "they were able to change our priorities and focus so they can lead but it’s wrong".
Then came the point where the rapper proposed a once and for all solution: "What we need at this point might seem like dictatorship and will feel uncomfortable since we have enjoyed temporal freedom for a minute but we need drastic measures to survive".
This was after the rapper had touched on the fact that he blames African leaders for some of the problems the people face too.
Sarkodie's call for what "seem like dictatorship" got people responsive to his rants. Many agreed with him but a lot more too were critical.
This is not the first time Sarkodie has let out his political voice. He is known to take lyrical shots at people in power in his songs.
However, this is the first time Sarkodie has called for something as drastic as a dictatorship for Africans in general and Ghanaians specifically.
