The CEO of 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has said Sarkodie was disrespected after he was nominated in the same category as Nigerian rapper, Falz.

The multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper has been nominated for a 2019 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Hip Hop Award.

Sarkodie has been nominated in the newly created Best International Flow category alongside six other acts, Falz (Nigeria), Ghetts (U.K), Kalash (France), Lil Simz (U.K), Nasty C (South Africa) and Tory Lanez (Canada).

But Sadiq is unimpressed with Falz being in the same category as the Ghanaian music giant.

Speaking on Hitz FM, Sadiq said: "What’s Falz doing in the BET’s Best International Flow Category? I think it is disrespectful to Sarkodie for Falz to be in the same category as him, looking at the standard Sarkodie has set”

He added: "Sarkodie is been there, and done that. There is no slowing down. I hope he wins.”

This is not Sarkodie’s first nomination from the BET as he has had nominations in 2012, 2014 and 2015.

Out of these three, he won the Best International Act: Africa alongside WizKid in 2012.

Meanwhile, Grammy Award-winning, Multi-Platinum artist, Cardi B leads this year’s nominations with an impressive 10 nods.
