Sarkodie is Ghana’s greatest rapper besides me – EL

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper and producer, EL has said Sarkodie is the greatest rapper in the country besides him.

Born Elorm Adablah, EL speaking on ClassFM said: “Sarkodie is the greatest Ghanaian rapper I’ve ever seen besides [me]. The first time I experienced Sarkodie perform, I was standing in the back of the national theatre and he came on with D Cryme, and D Cryme had this big clock around his neck and the place was basically set on fire and I was standing in the back. Nobody knew who I was, I was just a poor producer by then and I was like: ‘I need to work with this guy’.

“Up till now it’s so awesome, it still amazes me the things he can do and I’ve worked with him, I’ve seen the things that he can do. Sarkodie is a beast, I don’t say he’s a god because I don’t do that.”

EL was speaking about his latest album in the five-year Bar series titled ‘Bar5’or ‘BVR’.

Known for songs such as "Obuu Mo", "Kaalu” among others, EL picked up five awards at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) 2016, including the artiste of the year award as well as awards at the 2015 VGMAs.
