A South African Hip Hop Magazine, XXL Magazine Africa, has named their Top 10 Hip Hop artistes in Africa for the year 2017.

The list which includes some of Africa's biggest names in rap has listed Ghana's Sarkodie and M.anifest as part of the rappers who were most loved in Africa in 2017.

Sarkodie and M.anifest, who have both been battling for supremacy in Ghana performed incredibly well in the year under review. With Sarkodie releasing his 'Highest' album while M.anifest released some chart topping songs including Me ne woa which features King Promise and Be My Woman featuring South African group, Mi Casa.

The two have enjoyed some international recognition and have in turned received some international awards for their hard work.

1. Aka (SA)

Undeniably one of the most consistent artist in Africa, South African star AKA has been a top list resident for the longest time, his star just keeps on beaming, he’s a XXL Africa favorite.

2. Sarkodie (GHN)

Ghanaian star Sarkodie has been an icon of the African scene for a long time and he remains Ghana’s greatest hip hop artist, his star just rises as fast as his raps are.

3. Cassper Nyovest (SA)

The South African star represents a new age of hip hop in Africa that catapulted the wave to a higher level, he is definitely in our books as a favorite.

4. Phyno (NG)

Nigerian star Phyno is one of our most favorite artist and his discography is packed with hits that makes us his fans, his definitely taking it to the world.

5. Nasty C (SA)

South Africa’s Nasty C is a shooting star and he’s never running out of juice, he is our favorite because we know he’s gonna take it to the World.

6. Mi Abaga (NG)

Undisputed and reigning, Nigerian star MI is undeniably the best thing to happen to African hip hop, we hope all you rappers are listening to what his saying.

7. Kwesta (SA)

South Africa’s Kwesta has been making major moves that has been putting him on the world stage with staying power, @RealSway ‘s Top 5 favorite freestyle 2017? XXL Africa’s favorite artist in 2017!

8. Ice Prince (NG)

Nigerian star Ice Prince has been a mainstay in African hip hop for the longest time, his versatility is also one thing to admire, definitely a XXL Africa favorite

9. Emtee (SA)

South African Trap King Emtee has remained consistent, he graced us with a sick sophomore album titled #Manando , he is definitely one of our favorites and we just can’t wait to see him take it to the world

10. M.anifest (GHN)

Ghanaian star M.anifest in 2017 got crowned the King of Ghana Hip Hop after scooping awards for best hip hop song and rapper of the year at the GMA’s, his definitely ruling our ears that’s for sure.
