Ghana forward Kevin Prince Boateng has expressed excitement on scoring on his competitive debut for Italian side Sassuolo as they thrashed Ternana in the Coppa Italia on Sunday.

The 31 year old continued his fine pre-season form for the club by scoring the opener in the 5-1 mauling of the lower tier side.

A brace from Domenico Berardi and other goals from Francesco Magnanelli and Alfred Duncan completed their heavy home victory as Marino Defendi got the consolation goal for Ternana.

Boateng joined the Neroverdi on a two year deal from German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the ongoing transfer window.
