Saudi Arabia's PIF eyes Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey for 2025 move

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has reportedly initiated discussions with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey regarding a potential move to the Middle East in 2025.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian international, a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad, has attracted attention from both Saudi and European clubs as his contract nears expiration.
Partey has been a crucial player for Arsenal since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45 million.
His defensive prowess and midfield presence helped the Gunners challenge Premier League giants Manchester City last season.
However, as Partey's contract approaches its 2025 expiration, reports suggest his tenure at Arsenal may be coming to a close.
According to TEAMtalk, Partey is "almost certain" to leave Arsenal once his contract expires, with no renewal discussions currently underway.
Despite being a vital component of Arsenal's recent successes, including a 1-0 win over Tottenham in the North London Derby and a thrilling draw against Manchester City, injuries have hindered Partey’s appearances this season.
PIF, backed by Saudi Arabia’s government, is reportedly eager to sign the Ghanaian star, aiming to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January 2025, allowing Partey to make a free transfer later in the year.
Juventus are also in the mix, but Saudi Arabia’s PIF appears to be leading the race for his signature.
Throughout his Arsenal career, Partey has made 121 appearances, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
If a move to Saudi Arabia materializes, it would mark another high-profile addition to the Saudi Pro League as the nation continues to invest in global football talent.
