A man identified as Ebenezer Conduah, who reportedly presented himself as a preacher and international radio-based marriage counsellor, has been arrested for allegedly exploiting a minor and distributing illicit recordings online.
The suspect was apprehended in the early hours of March 6, 2026, during a joint operation conducted by the Cyber Security Authority Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service.
Authorities say the arrest followed intelligence and investigations into alleged online activities involving the exploitation of a minor.
The development was confirmed by Samuel Nartey George in a Facebook post on March 8, where he commended the efforts of investigators for carrying out the operation.
According to the Minister, preliminary investigations suggest that the alleged abuse involved a 17-year-old minor and may have continued for several years prior to the suspect’s arrest.
Investigators also discovered multiple recordings which were allegedly uploaded to international pornographic platforms.
Mr. George noted that the arrest occurred as the country was preparing to mark its 69th Independence Day celebrations, highlighting the ongoing efforts by authorities to combat cybercrime and protect vulnerable individuals online.
Officials say the suspect is expected to face charges under Sections 62 and 63 of the Cybersecurity Act 2020 Act 1038 Ghana, which criminalise the possession, production and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
Investigators are currently working to determine the full extent of the suspect’s alleged activities, including whether additional victims or accomplices may be involved.
Authorities say further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
