Newly committed Ghana international Marvin Senaya has expressed his excitement after joining the Ghana national football team camp ahead of their upcoming international friendly against the Austria national football team.
The AJ Auxerre defender shared his joy on social media, posting: “First steps. Thanks, God. #Blessed #TPH,” shortly after linking up with the squad in Vienna.
Senaya’s arrival marks a significant moment in his career, following his recent decision to commit his international future to Ghana after a closely watched nationality battle with Togo. The 25-year-old, whose father Yao Mawuko Senaya represented Togo, opted to play for the country of his maternal heritage.
He joined the team on Monday as preparations intensified for Friday’s fixture, with Ghana also set to face the Germany national football team in Stuttgart on 30 March.
Senaya has made 20 appearances and scored once for Auxerre this season, establishing himself as a reliable presence in defence.
His inclusion in the squad brings an end to uncertainty over his international allegiance and signals a new chapter as he looks to make an impression during Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For Senaya, the call-up represents both a personal milestone and an opportunity to contribute to the Black Stars on football’s biggest stage.
