The Police in the Nanumba South District of the Northern Region have arrested six people suspected to have been involved in the murder of a man in the area. The remains of the victim was found under a tree near a community called Lungni.

In a Citi News interview, the Police Commander for the area, ASP Paul Aboagye, said the suspects have been transferred to Yendi for further interrogation. He explained that they had information that “someone had been killed in a town called Lungni so we went there.” ASP Aboagye said upon reaching the town, they were told another person was complaining about his son who had gone missing for close to three weeks in a neighbouring town. “So that very day we were able to discover the remains of the man who was allegedly killed under a certain three near Lungni.

When we got there, through the dress he was wearing the man who was complaining about his missing son said that could be his son.” “So we did all the necessary things we had to do and later some people from the community accused some persons of doing that. The police arrested six of them and sent them to Yendi,” he added. The Police Commander however rejected claims that some part of the deceased had been removed for ritual purposes saying “every part was intact.”
