Six persons have died in a ghastly motor accident that occurred at Mpaha Junction on the Tamale-Buipe highway in the Savannah Region on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

The accident which occurred involved a Sprinter Benz bus heading to Tamale from Kumasi and a Kia Rhino truck that was also traveling from Tamale to Accra.

Five other persons where left with serious injuries while six have been confirmed dead.

According to the Police, the accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday around 4:48 am when the driver of the sprinter bus with registration number AS 5618 - 18 lost control of the vehicle after his tyre burst and slammed into the Kia Rhino truck with registration number, GN 5316 - 13.

The remains of  the deceased persons have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue while those injured are receiving treatment at the same facility.

Two out of the five injured persons on admission are in critical condition while the deceased persons are yet to be identified.
