Provisional results coming in from Madina suggest that the sitting Member of parliament (MP) for the area on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Amadu Sorogho has lost his seat to the Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface.

The New Patriotic Party’s Boniface Saddick polled 57.97 percent of the total votes cast in that constituency as Sorogho polled 39.88 percent.

The results signifies a vital swing in the fate of the NPP at the constituency as they had never won there since 2000.
