After two weeks of tailored activities which included a tour of the Accra all and a car wash, the Spaa Divas Network; a leadership and women empowerment organization is embarking on a peace walk for the friends on the streets dubbed, ‘Divas4Peace & Street Charity Walk’.
The walk which would be done in partnership with Director of ProjectEden and second runner up of Ghana’s Most Beautiful Season 9, Afariwa Dawson, is part of plans to remind the youth and the general public to be circumspect and mindful of their actions and inactions in this season of political tension.
This walk comes off on Saturday, September 17, 2016 and will start from the Accra Polytechnic to Independent Square.
Speaking to the Founder and National President of the Network, Mr. Seth Priceless Ala-Amegavie, stressed the need for peaceful elections in December.
He advised the youth to be mindful of their actions and inactions in the political season, adding that “We as a youth wield a power far beyond comprehension. We shouldn’t follow the script of politicians. We should bear in mind the sacrifice of our forefathers that has brought us this far.Take a look at your fingers and be reminded that they are not equal and so are opinions and choices.
“You have yours and I have mine but at the end of the day let's be guided by the colours that binds us, the colours that represents our pride as people. I believe the Ghana flag also means; be vigilant (red), be generous (yellow) and be evergreen in your smiles (green) to represent that hope to your family, society and country as a whole. Let’s show our leaders that we are the future and we are united by the flag.”
