Sporting CEO of German Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf Lutz Pfannenstiel has leapt to the defence of two of his summer purchases who have failed to glitter since their money spinning arrivals at the German side.

Of the many players purchased into the club in the summer only goalkeeper Zack Steffen and Ghanaian International Kasim Nuhu Adam have impressed with their performance.

Nana Opoku Ampomah and Dawid Kownacki have failed to produce anything near what convinced the struggling Bundesliga side to go for their services.

Fortuna Dusseldorf who are now languishing 16th on the Bundesliga log spent 11 million euros to acquire the two attackers.

"Both could not really help, they are yet to score so far in the Bundesliga we are sure that they will help us," said Lutz Pfannenstiel in the kicker.

He however has some advice for Nana Ampomah on what exactly he must do right in order to suceed at the club.

"He has to switch flanks often and increase defensive work.

He is not alone. "The sports director drew a comparison to his predecessor, who now works for  FC Schalke 04:" Benito Raman had to learn that too and came late, which is often forgotten today. " he advised.
