STC Dismisses Fatality Claims, Confirms All Passengers Survived Etukrom Crash

Intercity STC Coaches Limited has refuted reports claiming that passengers and crew members died in the road accident involving one of its buses on the Accra–Kumasi route, stating that everyone on board survived the crash.

The transport company issued the clarification following widespread reports and an interview attributed to the bus driver, which suggested that only 10 passengers survived the incident.

In a public statement, STC described the reports as inaccurate and urged the public to disregard the misinformation.

According to the company, every passenger and crew member aboard the bus survived the accident and received medical attention after the crash.

STC further disclosed that all those who were treated had been discharged from hospital by Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

“The safety and well-being of our passengers and staff remain our highest priority,” the company said.

The company noted that it is collaborating with the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the accident and pledged to provide the public with verified updates as investigations progress.

Intercity STC also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and quality customer service, assuring passengers that it remains focused on ensuring safe travel across its network.

The clarification comes amid ongoing investigations into the multi-vehicle collision in the Eastern Region, which involved an STC bus and several other vehicles. STC maintains that while the crash was serious, none of its passengers or staff lost their lives.
