Defender Mohammed Salisu found himself at the better side in a clash with Ghanaian compatriots Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp as Southampton beat Crystal Palace by 3-1 on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian trio clashed in a game Palace scored first but it was Salisu who had the last laugh as Danny Ings scored twice for Southampton to fight back to beat Crystal Palace in an entertaining Premier League affair.

Salisu was introduced into the game in the 46th, to replace Jan Bednarek at a time his side was on level peggings and he instantly became a tough nut  for Palace to crack.

Jordan on the other hand started the game but was Substituted in the 72nd minutes,  seven minutes after Schlupp had join the fray.

Salisu  superb performance saw him wriggled free of two defenders without much fuss, a move that caused  Palace Coach Hodgson stomped his feet in dismay.

With both teams having already secured their Premier League status for next season there was very little riding on this fixture other than pride. But it was far from a typical end-of-season affair.

Benteke's early goal set the tone for that before Ings took over, pushing his England credentials for the Euros this summer with some superb finishing and excellent link play with Adams.
