Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey produced a moment of brilliance for Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Seagulls were held to a 2-2 draw by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, letting a two-goal lead slip away.

Lamptey, who started at right-back, opened the scoring in spectacular fashion late in the first half. Cutting inside from the wing, the 23-year-old curled a left-footed strike into the top corner, giving Brighton a well-deserved lead.

The goal came after Brighton had missed several chances, including a close-range effort from Kaoru Mitoma just moments before Lamptey’s opener.

Brighton extended their lead late in the game when Yankuba Minteh weaved through Leicester’s defense to score what seemed like the winner.

However, Leicester’s resilience shone through in the final stages. Jamie Vardy pulled one back in the dying minutes and then assisted Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s equalizer, ensuring the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

While Brighton will be disappointed to miss out on a chance to climb into the top five, Lamptey’s outstanding performance and wonder goal highlighted his attacking capabilities and importance to the team.
