The President John Mahama and his family were  at his hometown Bole to celebrate Christmas, where he  was given a rousing welcome by the people.

The  President  grabbed the opportunity to address  an emotional crowd who had mobbed him, chanting ‘we want John’, apparently calling on him to present his candidacy for the presidency again.

In a more sober and emotional posture, the man, who for 12 years served as a member of parliament for the Bole-Bamboi constituency,  called on the people to accept the will of God, adding "May be, He has something bigger" for him.

Thanking the people for the honor done him, the 58 year old communication expert  recounted how the people of Bole Bamboi aided him to get to parliament for the first time  and further gave him all the needed support when he served in the capacity as vice president and president,

"Your thanks are with GOD," he said.

President John Mahama and entered parliament in 1997, the same year the president elect Nana Addo,72, also entered.

He served in parliament for 12 years, stretching 1997 t0 1998, when he was  unanimously approved as late Professor John Evans Atta Mills' running mate for the December 2008 elections.

To All the People of Bole- Bamboi, Your thanks are with GOD.

Last year, when I came to celebrate  Christmas with you, I told you that it all started here because it is the people of Bole- Bamboi who pushed me to become MP,  to Deputy Minister, Minister, then to Vice President and to President.

The love shown me, its only GOD who will repay you. I think my brothers, Alhaji Muniru, Yussif and Haruna have  all spoken.

They say its God who gives and Takes.

We never turned the hand of God for him to bless us with the Successes we chalked. It was His Will that he gave us those victories.

If its time for you to mark time, you can't question Him. No need for  despair. You may be interested in something but God knows the reasons why he refused you that thing.

You can't question him why he denied you. May be, He has something bigger than that in waiting for you. So everyone should wipe his tears. Don't cry.

Additionally I thank the people of Bole. If it was that the vote is only decided by the people of Bole alone, we would have been on the seat because you came out in your numbers  and voted very well. We nearly had 90% from Bole here. So we thank God. I thank you very much."
