9th October 2024
Ghanaians have hailed the innovative thought behind the CitizenApp, a new digital platform by government for citizens which was launched on Monday by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The CitizenApp, brings together all digitised public services on one platform, and it is aimed ay enhancing public interaction and offering a seamless digital service delivery to Ghanaians, Vice President Bawumia said at the launch on Monday.
The app, which also has unique persona identification features as the Ghanacard, can be personalised and used by citizens through out their life, to access several services including registering the birth of new-born, accessing all digitised public services including filing of taxes, and seeking jobs, as it provides vacancy information from government agencies.
Since its launch on Monday by Dr. Bawumia, a number of Ghanaians, both home and abroad, who have downloaded and used the app have applauded its uniqueness, and commended Dr. Bawumia for leading such innovation for Ghana, even ahead of advanced countries.
A number of Ghanaians living in Canada, US, and the UK, who shared their experience on social media, have admitted they don’t have something like the CitizenApp in their respective countries.
"I have been living in Canada for the past 15 years and I must say that there nothing like this here for citizens. Kudos to the government and Dr. Bawumia for this unique innovation," Alexander Kotei, a Ghanaian in Canada wrote on X.
Others from UK and the USA, also wrote about how unique the app is and how Ghana is moving ahead in many digital interventions.
