Tottenham eyes move for Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi
7th November 2024
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi who has Ghanaian parents, according to former Spurs and Manchester United scout Mick Brown.
Brown, who remains well-connected in football circles, revealed to Football Insider that Hudson-Odoi's impressive displays this season have piqued the interest of several top clubs.
Hudson-Odoi, 23, joined Nottingham Forest from Chelsea in 2023 and has become a key figure in Steve Cooper’s team.
His performances have been a vital part of Forest's strong start to the current Premier League campaign.
The winger has registered ten goals and two assists in 45 appearances since his transfer and has firmly established himself in the starting lineup.
Interest from Tottenham was first noted in July, with Football Insider reporting that Forest would require around £30 million for the talented winger.
Under manager Ange Postecoglou, Spurs are looking to bolster their attacking options as they aim for Champions League qualification.
Despite this summer's speculation, Brown confirms that Spurs' interest remains active, although a mid-season transfer seems unlikely.
“His performances have caught the eye of a few clubs,” Brown told *Football Insider*. “Tottenham were interested in him during the summer, and that interest hasn’t faded. They still see room for adding a winger to strengthen their squad.”
Currently sitting third in the Premier League after ten matches, Tottenham have had an impressive season, trailing only Liverpool and Manchester City.
However, their success has led to increased attention on Forest’s top players, including Hudson-Odoi.
Brown added, “When a team like Forest performs above expectations, naturally, their standout players draw interest. I don’t foresee a January move, as Hudson-Odoi would need to sustain his current form for a full season.
But the interest is certainly there, with several clubs tracking his development closely.”
Tottenham are reportedly evaluating their squad needs and may explore further recruitment to bridge the gap with the top teams.
While a move for Hudson-Odoi in the January transfer window is not anticipated, the summer window could see Spurs intensify their pursuit.
